On the roof of the automobile will consist of solar panels. While this will eliminate any sun-roofs, the gain is more electricity for the vehicle. As with all panels, these panels will collect the electricity, and feed it to the battery. That electricity can be used to move the automobile, or charge various resources within the automobile. The panels will likely not be enough to fully charge the battery after an 8 hour day, so charging at home might still be necessary, but it is a good start for a little bit of power.
