In between the driver and front passenger will be an infotainment center. This center will function for radio, camera viewing, and adjusting various actions such as handling a phone call, or setting the temperature in the vehicle. The Infotainment Center will support Android Auto, and Apple Car Play. This will mean any smart OS capabilities will be supported – therefore no discrimination. The owner of the automobile will select the default device which will take precedence when multiple devices are involved.
Obviously, the Infotainment Center will need the device to get much of anything. Maps, navigation, telephone calls, and various apps will all require a smartphone to be connected for those features to function. The Infotainment Center will also allow for automobile features. If the driver puts the automobile in reverse, then the backup camera will show on the Infotainment Center to assure that the driver doesn’t have any accidents. The Infotainment Center will also include an AM/FM radio, and will support XM Radio for satellite radio, Obviously, the center can also support online streaming services such as Pandora, or Spotify.
