Connectivity

All FSP Auto vehicles will support a wide range of connectivity options. These options are intended to improve the capability of the automobile, and improve on safety and security capabilities. Connectivity will include the following options:

  • Bluetooth
  • Cellular (5G)
  • RFID
  • Wifi

Bluetooth

Bluetooth is recommended for Android Auto, or Apple Car Play. All smartphones supports Bluetooth, and it would just make sense for the automobile to support it as well. The user can elect to plugging their phone into the USB4 port for a wired connectivity. When this is done, then the port can not use the thumb drive. In addition, there will be the ability to charge the device as well. However, Bluetooth is still the preferred option for convenience.

Bluetooth is also needed for the Console safe, and the push button start. If the device with the digital key is not connected to the automobile, these features will not work. This is a security feature as a bad actor will likely find this to be more trouble than value if they can’t enter the safe, or drive off with the automobile.

Cellular

Behind the Infotainment Center will be a nano-SIM card slot. This slot will allow the user to install a data only connection using the supported carrier or choice. All of the common global bands will be supported which is a good thing since there will be hopes for a global market. The owner is responsible for the cost of data services.

RFID

With every automobile will be an RFID key fob. FSP Auto will only provide 1 fob for the in case the phone they have does not support digital key. With the Key Fob, the device will function like the cellular phone with a bluetooth connection.

Wifi

So everyone can share in the 5G connection, there will be a 15 client Wifi-7 connection. The owner will choose the SSID, and passphrase. Anyone knowing this information will be able to access the auto’s wifi network, and connect to the internet.
